When you’re contemplating a swimming pool for your backyard, you’re dreaming of a place for family and friends to gather on long summer days and evenings. You want more than a pool. You want a total backyard environment. Perhaps it includes a fire pit with outdoor stone seating. Or maybe a waterfall. Or both. You want memories.
As swimming pool builders, we love to help our customers get a backyard built for making memories. We specialize in masonry work — tile and stone — waterfalls, coping, veneer, BBQs, fire pits, decking, outdoor seating, outdoor kitchens, living spaces, and more.
In 1989 David Mathenia began as a swimming pool builder in Merced, California. He was successful for a number of years until the savings and loans crisis hit, affecting the pool building business in California.
David took his business to Texas where there was more opportunity. He spent ten years there working as a subcontractor for other pool builders. He did pool construction, tile, masonry, remodeling, repair work, and more.
In 2000, his father, still in California, was ill. So David went back to Tulare. He continued as a subcontractor for established pool builders in the area. His three sons, often tagging along, were learning the same skills and the business.
Today, Living Water Pools, Inc. is comprised of David and two sons, Donovan and Devin. David, the dad, is responsible for oversight and quality control. Donovan handles pool sales, design, and construction tasks. Devin handles the tile and masonry division.
In addition, we work with the best subcontractors in the area and we pay them promptly so they are very loyal.
